Kernhill Forest Ooty

It has been planned to keep the isolated bodies of wild animals in Kernhill forest area to attract the tourists.

Kernhill forest area is located on the roadside,which is on the way from Ooty to M.Palada.This is under the south division of forest area.There are numerous birds and plenty of small wildlife animals lives here.Various measures have been taken to attract the tourists by Forest Department.

As a part of this, there is an Iron Bridge formed between the trees is present in this region.There are also facilities have been made for the tourists to walk to a certain distance inside the forest area.

The Orchid Flowers are brought from Avalanche have been displayed in this forest for the visitors.The orchid flowers are  highly preserved at Jean full Botanical Center in Nilgiri District.After that, the flowers were kept at Avalanche forest area.Now these orchid flowers are brought to Kern Hill area,so it is easy for the tourists to enjoy watching this eye-catching flowers.

Inorder for the tourists and Public to learn about the importance of Forest Ecosystem various activities have been carried out here.

Here tower along with view gallery has been set up in order to attract the tourist.Now we have decided to keep the isolated bodies of the wild animals in the regular walk path of the tourists forest area. As per this plan here and there, the isolated bodies of wild animals will be kept. As tourist viewing from the long distance, by having a look on this will appear as though the original wild animal has been kept in the forest area. The information regarding that particular wild animal will also be placed on wildlife.
          

In addition, Nilgiris tribal people like Todas, Kotas handicrafts will be displayed in the shops for sale.
