Indian's national animal Tiger is currently taking place on an endangered list. So the central and state governments are taking various steps to protect the tigers. As a part, there are four Tiger Archive such as Mudumalai Tiger Archive, Aanaimalai Tiger Archive, Kalakkadu Tiger Archive and Sathyamangalam Tiger Archive has been set at Tamilnadu State.

 

There are more than 170 Tigers are living in these Tiger Reserve area. The forest staffs and hunting prevention guards have been appointed to protect tigers and are engaged in security work. It has been found in a research that the tiger's count is more in Mudumalai Tiger Archive in all over Tamilnadu Tiger Archives. 

 

Modern Cameras were fitted at various places in Mudumalai to prevent the hunters to hunt the Tigers and other animals. But sometimes small-scale crimes are taking place in this place. In order to prevent the crimes fully first-time sniffer dogs are to be used here.

 

Sniffer Dog is going to be used at first time in Mudumalai Tiger Reserve in order to prevent the forest crime. Beljiyam Shepherd dog which was specially trained in Madhya Pradesh gualiar and Deccanpur national dog training centre for a period of 10 months has been brought to Mudumalai.

 

This 2years old dog named as Appar and the forest staffs Mr Vadivel and Mr Sasidharan is taking care of this dog. They were also specially trained at Gualiar and Deccanpur Training Center. Sniffer Dog not only brought to Mudumalai Tiger Archive but also two more sniffer dogs brought to Aanaimalai and Kalakkadu Tiger Archives.

 

This dog has the ability to find the culprits by their footprints.It also has the ability to detect the forest things which are hidden in homes, vehicles and the things placed on the ground by its smelling sense.
