Due to Pongal holidays, all the tickets of Ooty Mountain Rail has been reserved from 15th January to 17th January.

Everyday there are many tourists coming from different places to Nilgiri district.The toy train attracts the tourists very well, so most of the tourists prefer to travel by mountain train.The mountain train is operating from Mettupalayam to Ooty and vice versa via Coonoor everyday.

The train has been operating by Oil Engine from Mettupalayam to Ooty, which consists of 4 boxes.Then from Coonoor to Ooty it is operated by using Bio-Diesel engine.

The Pongal festival will be celebrated from 15th January to 16th January.So the holiday announced for 3 days.So it is expected that more tourists will come to Ooty to celebrate this holiday.

Toy Train Ticket Reservation has been completed from Ooty to Mettupalayam for the Pongal holidays from 15th January to 17th January.The ticket reservation of Mountain Train, which is operated from Mettupalayam to Ooty has also booked till 15th February.

There are 2  reservation boxes of Train from Mettupalayam to Ooty.2 boxes can occupy  Ninety-two passengers.Sixteen passengers can occupy the first class.The reservation has been completed in these two boxes.

The fair has been collected as Rs 250 for First class ticket and Rs 30 for a second class ticket.Due to unavailability of toy train ticket, the tourists are requested to operate extra boxes on Pongal holidays.
