Forest Fire Prevention works in Pykara Forest

There are not enough south-west and northeast monsoon rains in Nilgiri District on last year.So all the water resources had dried up without water.This causes a shortage of drinking water problem to the public.The green forest area has also loosened its blossom.The wildlife animals have been going to resident areas and fields to get a food and water.

The grasses and shrubs found scorched in the forest by the heavy drought.Some of the Social Enemies were setting a fire in the forest area at the night time.It causes a death of wild animals.So fire prevention works have been carrying out by the Forest Department People.

Pykara forest area is located near Ooty in Nilgiri District. The fire prevention works are in progress at this forest area by the forest officials. The grasses and shrubs on both sides of the road being cut and fired by the officials from Fingerpost to Pykara Forest Area.The total distance is 10 sq.cm.The risk of forest fire happenings will be prevented by doing this prevention work.
