Tiger Archive is present at 5 Districts of Tamilnadu namely Nilgiri District(Mudumalai), Coimbatore District(Pollachi Aanaimalai), Nellai District(Kalakkadu Mundandhurai) and Erode District(Sathyamangalam). 

 

In Tiger's Count Tamilnadu is in 4th place.Mudumalai Sanctuary is in first place in the state of Tamilnadu.Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary covers an area of 321 square kilometres.There are various wild animals such as Tiger, Leopard, Bear, bison, Deer and rare birds are living here.

 

"As per the recorded images of recent patrolling of Acrobatics inside the forest, it has been found that the count of the Tiger is increased.In addition the number of wild animals including Elephant, Deer and Bison has also increased.

 

There are twenty-four Kumki Elephants with task force and guards will be employed in dense forests to study the movements of the Maoists.

Three days seminars regarding Wildlife conservation will also be conducted by the forest officials of  Tamilnadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra on 29th of August at Bandipur,Archival and field director Mr Srinivas said".
