Tourists shows more interest for toy train ride

In the early stage, the people are dependent on a Mountain Train in order to travel from Mettupalayam to Ooty.The Mountain Train was established during the British period.It is still operating from Mettupalayam to Ooty.The distance of the railway track is 46.61 kilometres.There are totally 212 bends, 16 tunnels and 31 large bridges and 219 small bridges present in this railway path.

The first train has been starting at morning 7.15 am from Mettupalayam Railway Station and it will reach Ooty Railway Station around 12 pm in the afternoon.Then it will start at 2 pm from Ooty Railway Station and reach Mettupalayam by 5.30 pm. In addition, the Toy Train also operating between Ooty to Coonoor from morning to evening.

The summer season has ended and south-west monsoon rain begins in Ooty. Though there is a rainfall in Ooty, the number of visitor arrival is still high in Ooty.The tourists showing more interest to travel via mountain train.The influx of tourists to Ooty Railway Station is high in order to get the toy train tickets. Yesterday the tourists were stands in a long queue to get the tickets for toy train ride.One can enjoy the beautiful sceneries throughout the toy train journey. The tourists said it is very happy when travelling through caves and bridges in a toy train trip.

Last month a flower show took place at Government Botanical Garden when the Marigold, Balsam and Tulip flowers were displayed for the visitors.The tourists have highly enjoyed those eye-catching flower show.The grassland area near Glass House damaged due to a heavy crowd.

As currently the summer season comes to an end and monsoon rain started, the maintenance works were carried out at this place.The grassland area was closed for maintenance work.Tourists visit to the glass house is not allowed till the maintenance works of grassland area will get over.
