Glass House Renovation

150 years ago Botanical garden was established by Mr McIvor. The flower plants which imported from other countries including Newzealand, Europe were planted at this Botanical Garden. Currently, the park has a variety of trees which crosses 100 years.

Four glass house was set in this Garden. The flower plants which will grow at the controlled temperature being planted in this glass house.The flower seedlings brought from the foreign countries.

Every year, flower show will be conducted in the month of May at this Garden. The tourists from all over the world will be arriving Ooty Botanical garden on this special Occasion to enjoy the flower show. Various types of flower plants were planted all over the garden. The flowers in the plants will start to bloom at the summer season i.e in April and May.Every day thousands of tourists are visiting the Botanical Garden joyfully during a summer season.

The botanical garden consists of two thousand varieties of flower plants. The students and botanists show more interest to visit this garden.The tourists are allowed to visit three glass house of this garden. But the main glass house visiting is not allowed.The main glass house is a major attraction and many films have shot at this glass house.

As the glass ceiling of the main glass house is not proper, so the tourists are not allowed to visit this glass house. Every day thousands of tourists are arriving Botanical Garden and they also like to visit this main glass house. But the officials are not allowing the visitors to see this glass house and it was locked.

The tourists and local people are demanding the government to take prior action to reform the Glass House.They also need the glass house renovation work should be done before Summer Season starts so that the tourists will enjoy their visit at least on summer season.
