The water levels of Dams in forest areas increased due to heavy rain

The water levels of DamsUpdated by : Travel2ooty on November/17/2015

Due to heavy rain in Nilgiri District, the water level in dams at forest areas like Sigur and Singara have been increased.

Monsoon has started all over Tamilnadu, so there was heavy in all the places.Similarly heavy rain poured in Nilgiri District.Especially there was more rain at Masinagudi and its surrounding areas. The dams in Sinkara and singur were filled with water.

The water has also started to flow in Rivers and Streams in and around Masinagudi areas, where there was no flowing of water for many years. The level of water at water leakage hollows and dams in forest areas has been increased. These dams and hollows had been set by the forest department. So it seems to be no water shortage for the wildlife animals like Elephants, Deer and Buffaloes for the forthcoming days.

Due to continuous rain the forest areas turned green. The wildlife animals which were migrated to other places for food and water are returned to forest. As the water level is more at present, so it seems there will not be any water shortage for a summer season. The Masinagudi forest Department as well as Masinagudi area farmers are happy.
