The traditional festival of Todas namely Modhweth has been celebrated grandly at Muthanadu area in Ooty.There are different tribal communities such as Todas, Kurumbas, Irulas and Kattunayakkar are living in Nilgiri District.Each one's habits, traditional clothing and sheltering are different.Annually Toda people are celebrating their traditional festival namely "Modhweth" at every last Sunday of December or the first Sunday of January.
The main mund of Toda People is Muthanadu Mund. The Traditional Festival of Toda People has been celebrated at this place on 01st January 2017.All the toda community people has gathered at the same place and celebrated their festival by conducting worship at their traditional temple.During their celebration, all men, women and children wore their traditional dresses and they have conducted cultural programmes such as dance and singing.
A few of the tourists who had heard of the festival also visited this place during the festival time.
