New Eco Development Committee to alter Jeanpool as Tourist Spot

Jeanpool is a Botanical Center located at Gudalur in Nilgiri District. The new Eco Development Committee system has started in order to convert this Botanical Center as Tourist Spot. A few years ago, Jean pool Botanical Center has been created by the Mountain Development Program for a botany research. But it was left without any maintenance. The public has demanded to take action to protect rare plants present in this center. The acrobatics have decided to change this site to one of the ecological tourism spots. The work has been launched after many suggestions for this phase. Following this Eco Development Committee has set up by the Puliamparai Kozhikolli Tribal People.  

The action has been taken to make Tourism Development program by the Tribal Team. The meeting has been held at Kozhikolli Village. Gudalur D.F.O. Dhilip gave a speech. He said, “The actions have been taken to change the Jeanpool Botanical Center as Tourist Spot. The new team has set at first time by the village people. The tourism works will be assigned to this team. It gives an employment opportunity to many and village development works will be done by the profit of this Botanical Center, He added."
