Mudumalai witnessed heavy rainfall for the past two weeks
One of the oldest ponds is located at Masinagudi Bazar in Mudumalai. The water level was less during last year due to less rainfall. The wildlife animals and birds were suffered due to lack of drinking water. But now there is a continuous rain for the past two weeks in this area. This greatly benefited the wildlife animals and birds.
The pond in lush green surroundings and a Blue Mountain behind the pond are the main attractions of this place. This greatly admired by the tourists. The tourists show more interest to take photographs by standing before this pond. The local people have also demanded the government to take a prior action to make this place as a tourist spot. But no action was taken.
The local people of Masinagudi said, "Twelve Lakh fund was allocated for pond renovation and children's park building works. This project work was failed and not started due to various reasons. During season time more than 100 birds from the State of Karnataka come in the morning time and leave in the evening time. The photo enthusiasts are used to come here and take photographs. Therefore the district administration should take appropriate action to make this place as a tourist spot and also set up a new children's park in this area."
