Parking place introduced by the Police at Commercial Road in Ooty

The new parking place is just near to the market,where around 15 cars can be parked at a time.Barricades have been put up and police mark the boundary with white paint.

Ooty Town DSP, A. Manikandan, said that as the tourists are facing very difficult problems to find the parking place, so the additional parking place has been developed.The police have also found that most of the parking vehicles which parked at commercial road are belongs to the shop owners who park their cars from morning until evening in the same place.So the police are decided to note down the registration numbers of the vehicles regularly and also decided to note the parking time of the vehicle.

S Sathyamoorthi, Sub-Inspector, Ooty Town (Traffic) Police, said that maximum two hours will be a time for the vehicle owner to retrieve their vehicles after parking their vehicles.If the time exceeds than two hours the fine would be applicable to the vehicle owner. 

Police hope that this newly parking place with such measures would be more helpful for tourists as well as for the Ooty Residents to enjoy a trip through Commercial Road without any interruptions.
