Road works are in progress along Kallar-Ooty Road

The road improvement works are carried out at Kallar-Ooty road by the National Highways Department.Ministry of surface Transport had sanctioned Rs 10 crore for road improvement work.Kallar-Ooty road improvement works are underway,where protective retaining walls with high qualities were being used for the work.

As drains were also be constructed here, so protection measures were made in order to prevent bottlenecks in traffic. The reconstruction works of broken parapet walls and improvement works of seven hairpin bends would also be done with better safety measures. 

Interlocking paver blocks were also be used at higher water-logging areas to avoid damage during the rain.

The improvement works are carrying out for around 20 km from Ooty to Kallar road. It is expected that the work will be completed by early 2017.
