The tourist crowd was more for the past four days in Ooty

The government has declared holidays from 14th January to till yesterday for Pongal festival and for Century celebration of Mr MGR.The influx of tourists to Ooty, Coonoor and Mudumalai was more for the last four days.In addition, the tourists from other states have also arrived to visit the Nilgiri District.

The local people of Ooty Town who went to plane areas for a work also came to their hometown in order to celebrate their Pongal Festival.So yesterday the Ooty Bus Stand was crowded by the passengers.Similarly, the tourist crowd was more at Ooty Tourist places including Ooty Botanical Garden, Boat House and Rose garden.Finally, the Pongal holidays has ended yesterday.

The influx of tourists to the hill stations such as Ooty, Coonoor, Gudalore and Kotagiri was more on the Pongal Holidays.There was a small level of traffic congestion occurs here and there due to more tourist vehicles.The traffic police were helped in controlling the traffic.There were a high number of people who wants to travel to plane areas too.So the passenger's crowd was almost more on all the buses.

There were special buses operated from Ooty to other districts by the Transportation Department in order to benefit the public people.The whole Ooty City was filled with the tourists for the Pongal holidays.
