Heavy rainfall in Ooty yesterday

Last year there was no sufficient rainfall in Nilgiri District.Due to lack of rainfall, there was a severe drought in the Nilgiris.Four elephants were died in Mudumalai Sanctuary due to lack of drinking water.And also most of the dams in Nilgiri District have dried up without water.There is a shortage of drinking water problem in all the cities of Nilgiris including Ooty, Coonoor and Kotagiri.

 

There was a cloudy weather for the past two days in Ooty.The rain has begun to fall at Yesterday around 1.00pm in the afternoon.The rain lasts for 2 hours. The farmers and local people are happy.The inflow of water has increased due to rainfall.The local people have said that the shortage of drinking water problem will be solved if this rainfall lasts for few more days in Ooty City.

 

There is a moderate rainfall at Coonoor and Kotagiri for the last two days.But there need of heavy rainfall in order to solve a shortage of drinking water problem in Coonoor city.

 

Similarly, there was a sunny climate at yesterday morning in Kotagiri. Then at afternoon around 2 pm, the sky was cloudy.There was a  moderate rainfall after 2 pm in this area.Cloudy weather prevailed in Gudalore city and also there was a cold climate in this city.
