The number of Peacock in Sanctuary of Nilgiri District is increasing day by day

The Peacock's count is increasing day by day at wilderness of Nilgiri District. The tourists were very glad to see the peacocks that scroll on the road.Nilgiri,Blue Mountain which consists of 60% Forest area,Important forest areas includes Mudumalai Tiger Archive and Nilgiri North Vanakottam.The animals like Tiger,Wild Elephants, Leopards are found in this sanctuary and also peacocks, wild hens and birds were found large in Number.

Particularly our national bird Peacock's count had been increased for the past few years.Few years ago,its rare to see peacock at the sanctuary.Since the number of Peacocks increasing day by day,it roaming at the street normally.One can view these peacocks on the Masinagudi-Teppakad Road,Mayar Road,Singara Road and Anaikatti Road etc.The tourists goes through these roads eagerly waiting to see Peacocks and they love to take a beautiful snaps of these Peacocks.

 

Once the peacocks were disappeared and get into the forest area while seeing the humans,but now its not fearing eventhough the vehicles of tourists draw near to it.Increasing number of Peacock in this Sanctuary makes the environmental activists and forest department staffs happy.
