About Government Botanical Garden, Ooty
The Government Botanical Garden is Ooty’s most famous landmark and one of the oldest botanical gardens in South India. Spread across terraced slopes on the lower reaches of Doddabetta, it is maintained by the Horticulture Department and showcases a large collection of exotic and indigenous plants, manicured lawns, flower beds and heritage trees.
Visitors can walk along paved paths through sections like the Lower Garden, Italian Garden, New Garden, Conservatory, Glass House and Fern House.
