The number of passengers to Nilgiri Mountain Railway is very less for the past two days

Everyday,the Mountain train from Mettupalayam to Coonoor is operating one time per day and Ooty to Coonoor train is operating about four times per day.Normally the people making an online reservation two months before their trip in order to travel by Toy Train.

Usually, every day more than 210 people are travelling from Mettupalayam to Ooty through this old heritage train.But only 70 passengers were travelled through this Toy Train for the past two days due to demise(06th December 2016) of Ex-Chief Minister of Tamilnadu Miss J. Jayalalitha. Similarly the number of passengers from Ooty to Coonoor Train also very low.However, only local people often travelled by the toy train for the last two days.
